THE QUESTION THAT STARTED IT

A little screen time.
A world to discover.

WonderQuest is a personal project about opening doors: to unfamiliar subjects, surprising questions and the joy of learning beyond the classroom.

A small change in what screen time can be

WonderQuest began with a simple question: what if some of the time children already spend with digital devices could help them discover something new? A screen can be a place to watch, play, ask, think or investigate. This personal project makes room for the last three.

Created by Anupam Saha, WonderQuest is an educational learning app for curious children aged 4–12. Its starting point is exposure: meeting an idea you have never encountered, noticing something surprising, and wanting to know a little more.

Beyond the textbook, without more homework

School gives children an important foundation. WonderQuest makes space for the questions that wander beyond it: how a tiny organism lives, why the Moon shines, or what makes the ground beneath us change. A child may discover an interest simply because someone opened a door to an unfamiliar subject.

Short enough to begin

A manageable quest gives an Explorer a place to start. There is room to pause, return and follow a different interest.

Playful enough to try

Questions, challenges and rewards make the journey inviting. Persistence and another attempt belong alongside correct answers.

Open enough to continue

An on-screen discovery can lead to a library book, a conversation at dinner or something to look for outdoors.

How the idea became an adventure

The project has grown through a sequence of product ideas and builds. This is its development story, rather than a dated release schedule.

  1. Idea → early prototype

Begin with curiosity and test whether a short learning interaction can feel like an invitation.

  2. Discover → Think → Answer

Give an interesting idea a question to follow it, and give the answer an explanation.

  3. Curated content → quests and challenges

Grow the question bank and organise learning into themes, Micro-Quests, Missions and Boss-style challenges.

  4. XP and Coins → Explorer Legacy → Daily Challenges

Make progress visible, recognise milestones and offer another small discovery to return to.

  5. Parent and Family experience

Bring profiles, learning interests and progress together without making every activity a test for parents to supervise.

  6. Native iOS → native Android

Build dedicated experiences for both platforms around the same learning vision and shared foundation.

A family project with room to grow

The ambition is to help children discover what interests them, not to promise better grades or a particular educational outcome. Parents can encourage curiosity without watching every answer or comparing children by points.

WonderQuest continues to evolve through content review, testing and feedback. The next horizon is richer learning worlds, thoughtful support and a clearer view of each Explorer’s journey. Features and availability can differ by app release.
