The WonderQuest App Guide: practical instructions for Explorers, with a helping hand for parents. Find your next step, understand a feature or get unstuck.
Updated 3 October 2026. Screens, button names and available features may differ by device and app version. Follow the instructions and reward rules shown in your app.
New here? Follow these steps with a parent or guardian. You can return to this guide whenever you need a hand.
A helpful question: “What did you discover that made you want to know more?”
On a device that remembers your family, the app may offer Family PIN or device authentication. Email verification provides a route back to the registered family. Sign-in choices and provider availability can vary; follow the options that work in your installed release.
Keep the Family PIN and email codes with the grown-up. Do not send them to support. If you already have a family account, sign in to that account rather than creating another one to recover progress.
Your starting point for learning, your current progress and shortcuts into the adventure. Use the suggested next activity when you want to continue.
A Knowledge Area is a subject, such as space or biology. A theme is a smaller learning journey within that subject. Choose an available theme to see its path.
A separate activity from your normal theme journey. Look for Reveal My Challenge or Open Daily Challenge.
The Shop contains virtual Power Ups and Accessories. Explorer Legacy shows achievement milestones and progress towards the next one.
Family screens and settings are for parents. To change who is exploring, return to the family’s Explorer selection and choose the correct profile. Switch Family changes the family account; it is different from choosing another Explorer within your current family.
Micro-Quests introduce and practise ideas in small groups of questions. A Mission asks you to use what you learned in a situation. A Boss Challenge brings ideas and clues together into a larger problem. Practice and Review help you revisit learning.
A theme’s designed path builds from Micro-Quests into a Mission and Boss Challenge. Let the on-screen roadmap guide you; not every step is available immediately.
Why is something locked? Read the message on its card. Some activities need an earlier adventure completed; others require Premium access. A parent can help with Premium. Content and difficulty also depend on your age group and app release.
Read the question and all the options. Tap the answer you think fits. Check the selected option, then use Check My Answer if the app asks you to confirm.
Decide whether the statement is true or false. Choose the matching option, then check your answer when prompted.
Drag a choice into its matching box, or tap a choice and then its box where supported. Fill the required pairs. You can rearrange cards before checking; use Clear match if that option appears.
Wait for the result before tapping again or leaving. If the app offers Retry Saved Answer, use that recovery action instead of repeatedly starting over.
After an answer, take a moment to read the explanation. It helps connect a correct choice to the reason behind it.
You do not need to know every answer before you begin. Read the feedback and explanation, look at the choices again and follow the next action the app offers.
If your version says Keep Trying and repeats a question, try that question again after reading the explanation. Other releases or activity types may continue or offer a different retry. Follow the screen rather than expecting all activities to behave the same way.
Practice, Missions, Boss Challenges and Daily Challenges can use different completion and reward rules. A repeated question is not necessarily a fault. If you cannot continue even after following the displayed instruction, ask a parent to use the help steps below.
When taking a break, let any answer submission finish first. Later, select the same family and Explorer and open the theme again. Look for the available continue action. Online services are needed for account access and saving learning activity, so check your connection if progress cannot load.
Voice Learning and Voice Answer do different things: listening can help you hear learning content, while voice answering lets you speak a choice where supported.
Voice answers are for supported choice questions, not every activity. For matching, use the cards and boxes. Voice availability depends on the device, permissions and speech service.
If listening is silent, check device volume, sound output and the Voice Learning setting. If the microphone does not work, a parent can review the app’s microphone/speech permissions in device settings. You can still answer using the screen.
Reward amounts depend on the activity and version. Read the reward information on the activity or result screen rather than assuming every correct answer earns the same amount.
Coins and XP have no real-world monetary value. They are not cash and are not a measure of how clever someone is. Different Explorers can have different interests, ages and starting points.
Daily Challenge is separate from your normal theme path. It can have different reward rules and may finish without the same celebration used for a quest. If it is unavailable, continue an available theme or return another day.
Some Power Ups require the previous one first. Some items require Premium as well as Coins. A “Need more Coins” message means the current balance is not enough. If the catalog fails to load, use its Retry option.
Power Ups do not necessarily change every activity’s rewards. Follow the item description and activity rules. A virtual Shop purchase is different from a real-money app-store subscription; only a parent should manage subscriptions.
Use the Family experience to manage Explorer profiles and review learning interests and progress. Choose the relevant Explorer when looking at progress; XP and Coins answer different questions from subject or theme progress.
Family Settings includes options such as Security, Account & Privacy, Switch Family and Sign Out. Security options can include device authentication and a Family PIN. The available controls depend on platform and version.
For Premium, enter the parent-controlled purchase flow and review the actual store price, plan and renewal terms before confirming. If you already paid but access is missing, check that you are using the correct family and store account; use a restore or refresh-purchases option if your version provides one, then contact support if needed. Do not buy again simply to try to recover access.
Manage or cancel a subscription through the store where it was purchased. Signing out or deleting a WonderQuest account does not cancel that subscription. Account deletion is a separate, permanent action: read the app’s confirmation and the account-deletion information before proceeding.

Ask a parent to check the registered email address, internet connection and spam/junk folder. Follow the app’s resend instructions and use the latest code. Never share the code or Family PIN with support. Avoid creating a second account to recover an existing family.
Check the selected family and Explorer first. Let any pending submission finish and reload the relevant screen with an internet connection. A Daily Challenge or Shop purchase may affect Coins differently from a normal quest. If a discrepancy remains, record the activity and approximate time for support.
Read the lock message. It may require an earlier activity, more Coins, a previous Power Up or Premium access. Ask a parent for help with Premium. The available content also depends on the Explorer’s age group and release.
A repeated question can be a retry after an incorrect answer. Read the explanation and the instruction shown. If checking appears stuck, check the connection and use the offered retry/recovery action. Do not keep tapping purchase or answer buttons while an operation is pending.
Try a quiet place and say the option letter or complete choice. Ask a parent to check permissions. You can tap answers instead; voice is optional and is not supported for every question format.
Pause and ask a grown-up to discuss it. Use the website feedback form to report the question and what seems unclear. AI-assisted explanations can contain errors; they should not be treated as unquestionable answers.
Check the internet connection, then reopen the app after allowing any pending action time to finish. Check your store for an available update. If the problem persists, contact support with the details below. Do not delete the family account as a troubleshooting step.
